Institute for Information Industry (III) has signed a contract with EuroCloud Europe (ECE) and become the first EuroCloud Star Audit (ECSA) branch partner in the world, reported Central News Agency on September 22. The partnership is expected to introduce globally recognized third party certification scheme to Taiwanese cloud computing companies, help them obtain international certifications for local-made cloud computing products and services, and bring their products to European and North American markets.

Observed by MIC, shipment value of global cloud computing service industry is projected to reach US$142.5 billion in 2016, with cloud security and data privacy protection becoming major issues. ECSA certification scheme can establish trustworthy cross-border cloud services, including information security, data and privacy protection, regulatory compliance, and cloud service level measurement.
